EPIC
Room 2 is entirely dedicated to the theme of epic and leads us towards an ideological consideration about history and power. Starting with ancient times, from Ulysse’s cunning to Hector's courage and loyalty, from Andromache’s pain to Helen’s beauty; Vigliaturo analysed the power in its meanness but related to the values of war. Through the events of the Odyssey and Iliad, the artist studied their characters. According to Lucio Cabutti, Vigliaturo is inextricably linked to epic stories by «reasons that can’t be limited to a happy pretext or lucky chance [...] because [his] language tends to a vision of ideal and emotional interactions among feelings of quiet universality, painful destiny and intense existential participation».
